WoodPicker is a tool to simplify a woodworking project. You can use it to speed up the design, wood selection, and cutting steps of the project. Getting started on a woodworking plan is hard to do. Once you’ve painstakingly detailed a design, you need to select the best pieces of lumber to fulfill all the parts in the project and somehow keep track of each one. It’s not uncommon to spend hours at the lumberyard trying to figure out how to efficiently place the parts for your project on the best available picks of wood. WoodPicker is designed to greatly improve the experience of choosing lumber at the lumberyard so you can cut it into parts with minimal waste. With WoodPicker, you can now concentrate on picking the best lumber and be on your way in a fraction of the time. Here's how it works: WoodPicker will take your list of parts from your project plan and create suggestions of board dimensions to fulfill the parts list. If you can't find a board that matches the suggestion, no worries. Just change the suggested dimension and WoodPicker will automatically determine how to lay your parts on your chosen board. And when you've picked enough lumber for your project, WoodPicker will speed up your cutting time by providing a printable summary that illustrates the best layout for your project’s parts. If designing a project from scratch is overwhelming, WoodPicker also provides a growing list of project plans with illustrated cutting and assembly instructions that you can purchase to get you started even faster. All plans are FREE with the WoodPicker Pro in-app purchase. If you design your own plan in a program like SketchUp, you can easily import it into WoodPicker Pro with the CutList extension. Or, enter your parts list through the WoodPicker user interface. This requires the WoodPicker Pro in-app purchase. Version History This version enables language translations for most buttons, labels, and text within the WoodPicker app. Specifically, the language conversions are from English to French, German, and Spanish. This does not include translation conversions for items in the WoodPicker Store. 2.5 02/12/2022 This new version fixes a bug with the picking/selection of lumber made from softwood varieties (e.g. pine, cedar, etc). The bug prevented the user from being able to fulfill the parts list for the softwood. It also gave confusing information regarding the thickness of the selection category. This version also changes the cost structure of woodworking plans offered by this app for WoodPicker Pro users. 2.4.1 05/04/2021 This version contains a new woodworking plan in the WoodPicker Store for building a Baseball Beanbag Game. This plan features 2 open compartments for media devices or gaming devices. One of these compartments can be configured as an opening for media devices or as a small drawer. There are 2 additional larger drawers for storage. This console also features 2 large storage compartments, each compartment having 2 adjustable shelves. One of these storage compartments is open for display while the other has a door that covers the shelving. The overall dimensions are 46 1/2″ (W) x 28 5/16″ (H) x 18″ (D). The plan comes with cutting and assembly instructions for Pocket Screw or Mortise and Tenon Joinery. 2.2.0 07/24/2019 These changes fix problems associated with changing the quantity of assemblies for a project. When you increase the quantity to be greater than 1, the number of parts displayed for picking was incorrect. These changes also make it clear that the Flower Box project cannot be deleted from the app. 2.1.1 04/10/2019 - This version offers support for keyboard entry when generating a parts list. This will be an alternative to the default scroll wheel picker method. This new keyboard entry method is a selectable option in the app's Settings. - This version also provides fixes for bugs in parts list generation and editing that contributed to duplicate part numbers and inefficient placement of parts on boards. - This version also includes refinements to the user interface when editing a parts list. 2.1.0 01/14/2019 Upgraded Facebook utilities 2.0.1 11/02/2018 This version adds the capability for App Store promotions, thus enabling the purchase of WoodPicker project plans directly from the App Store.
